Two hadeeths
These two hadeeths, and others, indicate a preference for working in the ten days to work in all other days, so Allaah has sworn to them, and the division is evidence of its importance and place. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning ) : "The dawn and the tenth nights" ( Al-Fajr 1: 2) The argument, as is the view of Ibn Abbas, Ibn al-Zubayr, Mujahid, and one of the Salaf, and Ibn Katheer, and Ibn Rajab, and attributed to the Shawkani in his interpretation to the public commentators.
Ibn Katheer said: The majority of the ten hadiths were said:
It is the best day of the year, as the hadeeth says, and it is preferred over
the last ten Ramadaan, because this is prescribed by what is prescribed in
that. It is said that it is better, because it includes the night of al-Qadr,
which is better than a thousand months.
Others mediated and said: The days of this is better, and
the night is better, and this brings together the evidence, and God knows).
This is what Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah decided when he
was asked about the tenth of Dhu'l-Hijjah and the last ten days of Ramadaan,
which is better? He replied: "The days of Dhu'l-Hijjah are better than the
ten days of Ramadan, and the nights of the last ten days of Ramadaan are better
than the tenth of Dhu'l-Hijjah.
Ibn al-Qayyim said: If al-Labeeb hopes this answer, he will
find it sufficient enough. It is not one of the days of work in which he loved
Allaah from the days of Dhu'l-Hijjah, and on it is the day of 'Arafah.
As for the nights of the tenth of Ramadaan, they are the
nights of revival, which the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah
be upon him) lived in all of them, and there is a night better than a thousand
months. Whoever answered without this detail could not make a valid argument.
In this regard, there is something to show for this ten of
the status, and the work of the credit, where he did not exclude the text only
one work, which is the Mujahid who went out himself and his money, did not
return anything, the rest of the types of jihad, God Almighty, and all other
works, and this indicates that the work of curiosity in the time of virtue to
join the work virtuous in others, and increases it, to double the reward and
reward.
Al-Haafiz Ibn Hajar explained this justification
and this position by saying: (which shows that the reason for the privilege of
the tenth of Dhu al-Hijjah, the place where the mothers of worship meet, namely
prayer, fasting, charity and Hajj, and not otherwise).
