Importance of the issue

The first requirement: The virtue of ten Dhu'l-Hijjah:

It was narrated that Ibn 'Abbaas (may Allaah be pleased with him) said that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: There are no days of good deeds in which I love God from Him in these ten days. They said: No jihad for the sake of Allah? He said: There is no jihad for the sake of Allaah, except a man who went out with himself and his money, and did not return anything to that (And about him also said peace be upon him :) There is no action to be performed by God - the Almighty - nor the greatest reward of good works in the tenth of sacrifice. He said: "No jihad for the sake of Allaah?" He said: There is no jihad for the sake of Allaah, except a man who went out with himself and his wealth, and he did not return anything to that.
